The Aragats Heritage Center
The Future of Armenia's Past
The future home of the Aragats Heritage Center is itself a heritage monument. Built in the 1940s as Aparan's first hotel, this historic building--the work of one of Armenia's most accomplished architects-- now lies in ruins. Our goal is to revive this beautiful structure and rededicate it to the preservation of Armenia's cultural heritage. Redesigned by Simon Barseghyan, the Aragats Heritage Center will be a place where visitors of all ages can participate in preserving Armenia's precious cultural resources. Our vision is for the Aragats Heritage Center to become a classroom for local communities to learn about heritage and conservation, a center for global scholars to contribute to the study and protection of Armenia's past, and a destination for tourists eager to experience the region's vibrant cultural and archaeological monuments.
